Your work can be carried out within short timescales with our extensive machinery and expert staff or spread the costs by devising a work program whereby trees can be worked out over several site visits according to their order of priority.
The Procedure
Site Meeting and Consultation
Our arboricultural specialist can meet with you to discuss the site aims and the requirements. We can then recommend a course of action which will include a site survey covering all trees to assess the condition of the tree and its requirements.
The Survey
We can arrange for a survey of varying degrees with basic tree identification and brief comments of condition up to detailed tree inspections using the latest decay detecting equipment to assess the internal health and condition of the tree or even specific tree surveys to British Standard 3998: Trees in Relation to Construction.
The Quotation
Closely followed by the consultation we will send out a quote with a detailed specification of the work we recommend. Our price will reflect value for money for professional work. The estimate number is a unique reference number for your job, please quote it in any correspondence.
Your Acceptance
Acceptance of a quotation can be made by either telephone, email, fax or by post. This can be done quickly and efficiently by stating the individual quotation reference number.
As soon as we have received your acceptance, we can carry out an enquiry with your local authority, to check whether any Tree Preservation or Conservation Orders exist. We will then book the accepted work to commence at an agreed date and carried out within the agreed timescale.
The Work
On the date agreed for work to commence, our teams will arrive at a time which can be specified by you if necessary. If they are delayed for any reason they will telephone to inform you.
All our employees are skilled, courteous professionals, who have a genuine interest in the preservation and future of trees. Leading each team is a foreman. It is his responsibility to liaise closely with you whilst the works are carried out, ensuring that everything is completed correctly and to your satisfaction.
Our team always aim:
- To contact you on arrival and discuss the work with you.
- To move any breakables or any other items to a position of safety.
- To carry out works as detailed in the written specification.
- To take care of surrounding areas/features.
- To ensure debris is removed. We aim to leave the site cleaner than when we arrived.
- To check with you that you are completely satisfied before leaving the site.
Peace of Mind
For total peace of mind, we are an Approved Contractor of the Arboricultural Association. In order to remain on their Approved Contractor List we have to adopt best working practice and keep abreast of new developments in working methods. In addition, the Arboricultural Association will independently assess any concerns you may have about our service.

We aim to customise the services we provide to suit the specific needs for various clients purposes. Some examples of what we already do to provide an increasingly successful and efficient service as detailed below.
Schools
When working at schools we ensure all trees are regularly surveyed for their health and safety risks undergo regular deadwood removal to comply with the Occupiers Liability Act 1957 ‘the common law duty of care’ to ensure all trees undergo ‘reasonable’ care to ensure harm does not occur and a degree and safety is maintained.
We also aim to arrange work on trees to take place during half term periods in aim to reduce disruption to the day to day running.
All work is carried out in accordance to the most up to date health and safety standards as required by all Arboricultural Association Approved Contractors.
Golf Courses
Wilbytree can cater for golf courses, we understand the importance of maintaining the green to impeccable standards. For this reason we aim to ensure disruption to the golf green is kept to a minimum. We also make sure works are only carried out at times when disruption to the grass is minimal, delaying work when there are periods of high rainfall.
When working on golf courses we use either rubber tracked machinery or low profile tyres fitted to spread the weight evenly across the surface area to reduce the impact caused to the grass.
Local Authorities
With a great deal of experience working on local authority contracts and an extensive range of efficient high capacity machinery and vehicles, Wilbytree are capable of providing a highly competitive, cost effective and great value for money service whilst still maintaining the highest arboricultural standards.
We have our own health and safety director to ensure the safety of both staff, clients and the general public by making sure that all machinery and equipment meet current European and British Standards and also that all operations are carried in accordance with the industry best practice.
Wilbytree have all the relevant road signage for working alongside highways in accordance with Chapter 8. Including lights for traffic control.
Wilbytree are capable of working on Local Authority contracts both short term as well as long term continual contracts where we can carry out works according to priority and also provide future management recommendations.
Air Spading Service
The need to investigate the roots of a tree are continually increasing for various reasons, these can include to allow for inspections to be made, to decompact the soil around the tree roots increasing oxygen and nutrient supply, allowing for root pruning or for redirecting underground services. This service is increasingly being requested within the construction industry for trees in close proximity to building development proposals. For more details on this service click here
